trapped in a glass body

This was a project about a grass field in a residential area. After researching the history, I found out that there was a circus once in a while. A local resident told me that animals sometimes escaped. In 2013, a giraffe even ended up in their garden. This image stuck with me and I wanted to capture it. With a technical 4x5 camera I photographed a local resident in his garden. I showed him my concept that I had drawn. In the darkroom I made a print and put the giraffe in it with a stencil. This way the paper remained white in that spot. The giraffe is on a leash to show that the circus animals were actually held by humans. Fortunately, most wild animals are no longer allowed in the circus.
